As well as choosing to serve Fairtrade tea, coffee and sugar in its offices in the Market Buildings and at at events, the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce has generously used its platform and reach to promote Fairtrade to businesses and business people across the island. Over the last few years it has hosted events and product displays, provided space in its publications and encouraged members to consider joining it as a Fairtrade Workplace.
Kay Leslie, (former) Executive Director of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, said:
“Chamber has, at its heart, an authentic existence in ensuring that all business operates in a way which enables everyone involved to benefit as fairly as possible. Fairtrade perfectly fits our focus on enterprise, external connections and an interest in the heritage of food, drink and other products which we use in Guernsey. Joining Fairtrade was a natural way for us to help highlight this fantastic organisation and an easy way for business to engage and support it.”
