Fairtrade Fortnight will take place from Monday 22 September – Sunday 5 October 2025.
And this year, it is all about tea!
Tea is the world’s most popular drink (apart from water). In Britain alone, we drink over 100 million cups of tea every day. The production of this tea provides work for 13 million people globally – but only 1 in 5 tea farmers and workers earn enough every month to support their families with the essentials.
As individuals and organisations, we have the power to change this, one cup at a time. By choosing Fairtrade tea, we can collectively help protect nature, support communities overseas, and ensure the people behind our tea are paid fairly, treated with respect, and able to adapt to climate change. It’s a small act with a powerful ripple effect.
How can you get involved?
This Fairtrade Fortnight we are asking YOU plan a tea-themed event – for your colleagues, members, clients, service-users or friends and family. It could be a simple tea and chat, a bake-off or cake sale using tea as a key ingredient, an afternoon tea party or an evening reception with tea-based cocktails. Or just introduce Fairtrade tea to one of your regular meetings or events. There are many ways to enjoy the nation’s favourite drink, and it tastes even better when it’s Fairtrade certified!
The following resources are available to support you in this campaign:
- Details of local Fairtrade suppliers
- A taster pack of Fairtrade tea, coffee and biscuits – contact us to request yours!
- Posters and postcards to explain and promote the importance of choosing Fairtrade tea and a poster to advertise your event.
- Fairtrade recipe ideas
- Social media boosts – tag @FairtradeGuernsey when you post and we will like and share
You can download and print digital versions of these resources via the links above. Or get in touch with us to request a physical resource pack and let us know your plans – we’d love to hear from you!
You might like to enter our competition to win a year’s supply of Fairtrade tea – just answer a simple tea-related question to enter the prize draw.
Children aged between 4 and 18 can also get involved in our Schools’ Competition to design a poster to promote Fairtrade tea that we will use in our campaigning next year! The deadline for entries is Friday 10th October 2025 – see here for more details.
We hope you can join our campaign to serve and promote Fairtrade tea this September and beyond.
Together, we can “Brew it Fair” and stand with the people behind the tea we drink.
