Fairtrade Schools Competition 2026

In 2026, Guernsey is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a Fairtrade Island.

We have picked 20 photos to represent Guernsey’s Fairtrade journey and achievements over the years, and we would like YOU to add to them!

Your challenge is take and send us a photo (or for the youngest children, draw us a picture) of what FAIRNESS means to you.

This Fairtrade Fortnight 2026—21st September to 4th October—we will be talking about the importance of fairness to People, fairness to Planet, and providing fair Pay to farmers and workers around the world who produce the food, drink and other items that we use every day. But what does fairness look like for you?

Photos can be digital or hard copy and should be accompanied by a short description (max 50 words) about what they feature and why.

The competition will be split into three age groups:

  1. Reception / KS1
  2. KS2
  3. Secondary years 7-11

The closing date is Friday 9th October 2026. Entries must be marked with your name, school and age on the back or in the file name, if sending digitally. Entries can be submitted through your school or directly, by email to [email protected].

We are delighted to announce that local photographer, Paul Chambers, has agreed to judge the competition. Winners will be announced by the end of October and will receive a prize and certificate.
