Why not round up a table of 6 and join us for our annual quiz night for a fun evening raising money for good causes. \nThis year’s story\nWe’re delighted to be fundraising this year for the further development and equipping of a health centre in Tilimuqui\, Argentina. If you went to our recent wine tasting event\, you’ll know all about it! \nThe health centre’s construction was funded by the Fairtrade Social Premium through sales of certified Fairtrade wines. SUMMARY:Fairtrade Wine Tasting Night
DESCRIPTION:Do you love your wine? Then why not join us for a night of discovery as we learn all about some of the most popular Fairtrade wines from our expert sommelier. \nThis Fairtrade Fortnight event\, kindly sponsored by CI Coop\, will take place on Thursday 19th September from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Old Government House Hotel\, St Peter Port. Ticket price includes a guided tasting of six Fairtrade wines (two white\, two red\, one rose and one sparkling)\, led by the Cooperative Group’s lead wine buyer\, Edward Robinson. You will also hear stories of Fairtrade wine producers from Walter Carol\, export director for La Riojana\, the largest Fairtrade winery and co-op in Argentina. Light sharing platters of cheese\, biscuits and crisps will accompany the tasting. Raffle tickets to win bottles of your favourite wine(s) will also be on sale on the evening. \n£20 a ticket

SUMMARY:Fairtrade Children's Trail
DESCRIPTION:This Fairtrade Fortnight we’re highlighting how some of our favourite foods\, such as bananas\, coffee and chocolate\, are becoming endangered because of climate change and unfair trade. \nFollow our trail around St Peter Port and find 12 Fairtrade products displayed in the windows of (and in some cases inside) participating businesses*. Make a note of the letters on the pictures\, rearrange them to make a well-known Fairtrade term and send us your answer to be in with the chance of winning one of two £25 vouchers. \nThe trail will run from Monday 20th February to Sunday 12th March and is open to all children up aged 4-16 years. \nEntry forms can be downloaded HERE or from Facebook and must be emailed to info@fairtradeguernsey.com by midnight on Sunday 12th March. Hard copy forms and an entry box can also be found in the Guille-Allès Library. \nAll correct answers will be put into a box and the winners picked out at random. There will be separate prizes for primary- and secondary-school age children. \n*Participating St Peter Port businesses are Co-op Locale The Market\, Marks & Spencer food hall\, White Stuff\, Moores Hotel\, Fillers\, GSPCA charity shop\, Little Ginger Boutique\, Hansa\, Guille-Allès Library\, Health Connections Reloved Living (Market Square)\, Land of Green Ginger and The Guernsey Weigh.
